Version 2025.01, January 2025
New Features
Akselos Modeler Version 2025.01 introduces these user-focused features:
Description
Solver
1. Temperature-dependent Materials for Shell Elements with RB-FEA: RB-FEA solver support enabled for temperature-dependent shell elements, such as thermal expansion, and temperature-dependent material properties.
Solver
2. Computation of Work for Plasticity Solver: Introduces a feature to calculate the work done during plastic deformation in simulations. This provides deeper insights into dissipation energy and material behavior, aiding in the evaluation of plasticity performance.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
3. Method A Hotspot stress calculator for Deterministic Fatigue (DNV-RP-C203): Introduces a feature to calculate the work done during plastic deformation in simulations. This provides deeper insights into dissipation energy and material behavior, aiding in the evaluation of plasticity performance.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
4. Mesh Flattening for Solid Components: Implement a mesh flattening functionality for a given surface, aiding the workflow of mapping corrosion thickness to heating tubes with pigging thickness data.
Akselos Portal
5. Filter and Export CSV for Token Consumption History: Adds filtering options and CSV export functionality for token consumption history. This allows users to easily analyze usage patterns and share detailed reports for better resource management.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Akselos Modeler Version 2025.01 contains the following bug fixes and improvements:
Description
Solver
1. Contact solver: Improvements to the definition and calculation of the tangential contact stiffness in order to more closely align with industry standards. Various bug fixes for improved usage and visualization of results.
Solver
2. Pretension: Better support for combining force-based and displacement-based pretension, as well as ease-of-use improvements.
Solver
3. Rigid elements: Improved handling and cycle-resolution of networks of interconnected rigid elements to avoid constraint loops and eliminate the scenario where previously some constraints would be dropped. Additional bugfixes for convergence when using auto-load-stepping.
Solver
4. RB-FEA Solver: Support for poisson ratio as an RB parameter when using shell elements.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
5. Search/Tag and Selection tool: Improves the Search/Tag and Selection tools to support advanced queries for beam elements, including element ID, node ID, cross-section ID, material ID, and properties. These upgrades enhance efficiency in locating and selecting specific elements for beam model configurations.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
6. FPSO-related applets: All FPSO applets, including those for updating corrosion thickness and performing strength/fatigue assessments, have been enhanced and migrated to a new platform. This upgrade improves robustness, scalability, and ensures seamless performance for critical analyses.
And other additional bug fixes and improvements.
