Description

Solver: Enabling the ability to create holistic models of both wind turbine tower and floater for Floating Wind assets by supporting Wind load mapping from OrcaFlex to Akselos. The load is computed from drag coefficients and wind load field (BTS file) and applied to cylinder surfaces of wind turbine towers. It is supported for FEA, RB-FEA and Hybrid solvers.

Solver: Eliminating residual forces and moments on floating assets such as Floating Wind and FPSO during structural simulation now becomes easy with the new Inertia Relief feature. Weak support is added to the structural model automatically, effortlessly. It is supported for FEA, RB-FEA and Hybrid solvers.

Akselos Modeler: Stress linearization features allows users to compute through-thickness linearized stress curves that can be used for post-processing and fatigue analysis.

Akselos Modeler: Easy configuring and verifying load cases for Floating Wind assets with 2 new support tools: FOWT Load Configuration Wizard and FOWT Load Verification Tool.

Complicated load cases from OrcaFlex results (in NPZ format) can be generated within a few minutes in steads of hours and avoid unnecessary human errors. Plotting comparisons between Akselos load cases’ net force / moment and OrcaFlex’s result can be done within Akselos Modeler.

Updated token management framework for Akselos Innovate users, provides simpler token management and clarity on token consumption. Further updates on token consumption reporting will follow in the next release.

Description

Performance of Spectral fatigue analysis with time-domain stress RAOs (Jacket) is improved significantly by upgrading the algorithm and enabling more parallelization.

Performance improvement for solution post-processing includes nodal stress averaging, nodal solution inspection, etc.

Several solver enhancements for Bolt-pretension, Contact and Pushover.

General software enhancement by using new data format (SQLite) for better performance, especially for Jacket assets. Please contact Akselos Support for guidance converting your existing Jacket models.

Akselos Modeler: Improvement for Component Editors including selecting elements for sideset creation, configuring dirichlet boundary condition, PartInfo, etc.

Akselos Modeler: Various visualization improvements for Boundary conditions, show beam cross-section, show shell thickness and rotate tools.

Several additional bug fixes and improvements.
