The Challenge
Cokers undergo persistant thermal cycling, leading to eventual downtime and hindering production. Meanwhile, analyzing the structural dynamics of coker units in real-time and in detail is not possible with traditional tools.
The Solution
Using real-time temperature and pressure data, process specs and the 3-D geometry of the coker units, Akselos SPM quantified the impact of faster preheating and revealed variability in the coker cycles. The plant could proactively optimize the process to boost production throughput without compromising asset integrity.
