From the outset, Akselos collaborated with global energy leaders like Shell, brought together through the MIT Industrial Liaison Program. The question on the table was one that would define the future of the industry: How can we help operators safely manage the world’s most critical infrastructure, while maximizing its performance and pushing the boundaries of its lifespan?
Together, we envisioned a future where operators could unlock massive value across the board – reducing capital expenditure (CAPEX), slashing operational costs (OPEX), and boosting revenue, all with more confidence in their assets, with standards applied at all times.
That vision is now a reality. For PetroChemical plants, our SPM product suite repeatedly delivered performance and safety improvements valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, often adding up to over a billion dollars in value over the plant’s extended life.
Our Solutions
The challenge was to take the same powerful simulation algorithms used to design an asset, or do root cause analysis, and run them in real-time – at the speed of operations.
Our core breakthrough, patented Reduced-Basis Finite Element Analysis (RB-FEA), is the engine that solves the challenge of running complex simulations in real-time.
