Version 2025.04, April 2025
New Features
Akselos Modeler Version 2025.04 introduces these user-focused features:
Description
Solver
1. RB-FEA for heat transfer: Fast and scalable solver for nonlinear steady and transient heat transfer using Akselos’ unique RB-FEA technology. Includes temperature dependent material properties, convection, and radiation.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing:
2. New Tool for Connecting Beams to Face Ports: A new connection option to automatically create RBE3 connectors between a beam node and a component face port. It enhances modeling efficiency by automating port creation and connection configuration, which previously had to be performed manually or with other workarounds. Ideal for improving flexibility and reducing setup time in complex assemblies.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing:
3. Automatic Identification of Contact Surfaces: When creating Contact Interactions, the Contact Surfaces can now be automatically identified instead of requiring a manual selection. This saves time, reduces manual effort, minimizes human error, and improves consistency—especially useful for complex models with many potential contact areas.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing:
4. Nastran Format Exporter: Introduces a new tool to export Akselos models to Nastran-compatible BDF format. This feature enhances interoperability with external solvers, supports streamlined workflows for structural analysis and required verifications.
Akselos Portal
5. “Akselos Dashboard” website has been renamed “Akselos Portal”: The terminology changes from “dashboard” to “portal” to clearly distinguish “portal” – an Akselos website provide all online services including model and permission management, digital twin configuration, etc. and “dashboard” – an interface inside Akselos Portal displaying structural monitoring results. Users can access Akselos Portal via https://portal.akselos.com/.
Akselos Portal
6. More visibility for Sensor Data Streaming on Akselos Portal: Display sensor tags receiving from configured data connections and their last communication time on Portal directly to ease monitoring data streaming status and content.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Akselos Modeler Version 2025.04 contains the following bug fixes and improvements:
Description
Solver
1. Improvements to Bonded Contact for Coincident Nodes: New support for more computationally-efficient handling of coincident nodes in bonded contact surfaces. This can improve behavior and resolve some unexpected behaviors around the edges of contact surfaces in the case where the surfaces have coincident meshes.
Solver
2. Fixes for DOF Rotation with the Plasticity Solver: this resolves some previous issues with, e.g., pretension elements which are not aligned to the Z axis, when using the plasticity solver. The results should now be identical across all solver types, regardless of how the pretension element is aligned.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
3. Performance Enhancement: Improved post-processing performance for models with a large number of load steps. This enhancement improves responsiveness when visualizing and interacting with results, enabling a smoother experience in reviewing complex solutions.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
4. Add Solve Servers without Administrator Privileges: New distinction between user-defined and built-in solve servers allows for users to add custom solve servers without needing to request support from their IT administrator.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
5. Support for Excluding Components from Training: New per-component option allows users to specific standard training, “only ports” training, and no training. This improves computational efficiency by avoiding unnecessarily training components for FE solves or FE regions of Hybrid solves.
Akselos Modeler and Post-processing
6. Improved Highlighting of Material Groups: Clicking on material groups in the Model tab should now highlight the regions of the model where that material is applied.
Akselos Portal
7. Improved Job Status Handling for Auto Enrichment: This update improves status reporting by correctly recognizing the success of the overall Auto Enrichment process, ensuring the parent job reflects the true outcome.
And other additional bug fixes and improvements.
